Hanwha Life Esports made short work of T1. The 2-0 sweep in Week 13 of the LCK on August 23 took a combined 51 minutes and 33 seconds, with the second game wrapped up in 22:52, and T1 never looked close to taking a map off them.
The lopsided scoreline was matched by the numbers underneath it. HLE out-killed T1 34 to 12 over the two games, finished with gold leads of roughly 9,700 and 13,600, and destroyed 17 towers to T1's two. Both Baron Nashors went the same way, too.
Kanavi runs the show
If one name stands out, it is Kanavi. The jungler finished 8/0/5 on Lee Sin and 10/1/7 on Pantheon, an 18/1/12 line for the series with kill participation of 87% and 89%. He was the highest earner on the map in both games, and arguably the clearest reason T1 had so little room to work with.
He had plenty of help. Zeka died just twice across the series while posting close to 20,000 damage in each game on Cassiopeia and Syndra, and Delight's Alistar and Lulu combined for 25 assists against a single death. Zeus and Gumayusi rounded out a lineup in which nobody had a bad night on the stat sheet.
Few answers for T1
T1 did hold their own in one category: they took four dragons to HLE's three across the two games. That was about where the positives ended. Faker led all players in damage in the opener with 21,748 on Orianna, but his Ryze finished 0/5/2 in the shorter second game, and Doran's damage output stayed below 6,500 on both K'Sante and Gwen. Peyz carried much of T1's threat in the second game with four of their five kills, yet the team as a whole could not turn its dragon control into towers or Barons.
For HLE, this is a sweep that will be hard to read as anything other than a statement of form, built around a jungler playing at a level few could match on the day. For T1, the questions are more pointed: how a roster with this much talent ended up with two towers across two games, and how quickly they can find an answer before Week 13 is behind them.
