SK Gaming have the series. They beat GIANTX 2–1 in LEC Week 2 on August 1, and they took the decider so convincingly that a 49-minute defeat in game two looked like a long way off.

That third game is the headline. SK closed it in 26:09 with a 12–1 kill score, nine towers to GX's two, all four dragons and the lone Baron. GX finished roughly 12,500 gold behind. Four of their five players went without a kill or an assist, and the one kill they did get came from Flakked's Xayah. No SK player died more than once.

Jopa carries the load

Jopa was the clearest difference across the set. He went 6/0/4 on Yunara in the decider, and his series total was 20 kills against seven deaths. In the opening game his Corki dealt 41,654 damage, the most of anyone in that game, while SlowQ added a 7/2/9 line on Cassiopeia. Those numbers came with control of the map. SK took 11 towers to GX's five and both Barons in a 42-minute game one, which was a lot closer on kills (19–15) than on structures.

Wunder had a quieter series. He did not score a kill in either of the first two games, and his only one came in the decider on Volibear. Skeanz and Mikyx went without a death in game three, which suggests SK had that game well under control.

GIANTX show what they can do

GX did not go away quietly, and the second game showed their ceiling. At 49:08 it was the longest of the three, and they won it with 32 kills to 16, three Barons to one and five dragons to two. ISMA went 10/2/13 on Xin Zhao, Jackies finished 11/2/7 on Ryze, and Jun added 23 assists on Leona. Oscarinin took the most deaths on the side with seven, but his Renekton still dealt 72,285 damage.

That makes the decider all the harder to explain. A team that put up 32 kills in one game managed a single kill in the next. GIANTX will want to know why. SK will take the win and Jopa's form into the rest of the LEC season.
