LGD GAMING made it look straightforward. The LPL Week 4 Bo3 against TOP ESPORTS finished 2-0, with LGD playing on blue side both times and ending each game well clear on kills, towers and gold.

The final tally tells most of the story: 43 kills to 16 over the two games, and seven towers taken by LGD in each. TES never got their own total past ten kills in a game, and a second game that wrapped up in 27:30 suggests they had few answers by the end of the series.

Tangyuan sets the pace

The mid laner was the headline act. Tangyuan went 11/2/5 on Locke in the opener and followed it with an 8/1/1 Akali in game two, where his 26,410 damage was the highest on the map. That's 19 kills against three deaths across the series, a line that is hard to argue with.

He had plenty of help. Heng was involved in 92% of LGD's kills in game one on Lee Sin and finished the series with 28 assists, while Crisp, on Lulu and then Milio, died just once in two games. Shaoye's opener was quiet on the scoreboard at 0/3/12 on Ashe, but he bounced back with a 4/2/11 Lucian in the second.

A rough afternoon for TES

For TES, the problems were spread around. ZUIAN went 2/7/3 on Rumble in game one, and JackeyLove's Ezreal finished 1/5/2 with a 30% kill participation, despite the highest farm on the map. Game two was arguably worse: Tian's Jarvan IV ended 0/6/4 and Creme was involved in just one of TES's six kills on Aurora. LGD's gold edge at the end of that game sat at roughly 8,600, and they were the team to claim the series' only Baron.

There were small positives. ZUIAN's Renekton led TES with 24,457 damage in the second game, and Creme dealt over 20,000 in both. But numbers on the damage chart did not turn into kills or objectives, and that gap is what TES will need to close before their next outing.

LGD, meanwhile, leave Week 4 with a clean sweep and a mid laner in form. The question is whether this level holds up against the rest of the LPL field.
