Dplus KIA have their series win. After a heavy defeat in the opener, DK took the next two games to beat kt Rolster 2-1 in Week 11 of the LCK, and the final two scorelines were nearly as lopsided as the first.

That first game belonged to KT. They finished it in 28:25 with a 14-4 kill count, eight towers to DK's three and an 11,000 gold advantage. Bdd's Ryze ended on 2/0/11 with a hand in 93% of his team's kills, while Cuzz's Pantheon went 4/0/7 without a death. On the other side, Siwoo, Smash and Career did not record a kill between them, and DK's whole roster managed four.

ShowMaker and Smash flip the series

Whatever DK changed after that, it worked. Across games two and three they outkilled KT 30-12, and ShowMaker did not die once in either game. His Viktor in game two was the standout line of the series: 7/0/5 with 37,979 damage to champions, comfortably the highest figure on the board. DK closed that one out in 32:20 with all four dragons and two Barons, and finished almost 14,000 gold ahead.

Smash took the lead role in the decider. His Kalista went 9/0/4, involved in every one of DK's 13 kills, and he topped the damage chart with 25,112. ShowMaker's Orianna added 2/0/10 for 92% kill participation, and Career's Renata Glasc ended 0/1/13. KT, by contrast, finished game three without taking a single tower, while DK destroyed 11 and wrapped things up in 29:29.

It was a rough end for a KT side that had looked composed in the opener. Bdd, so influential in game one, went 0/3/3 on Yone in the decider, and FenRir's Mel was involved in just one of KT's five kills. Effort's support play, worth ten assists in game one, produced two in the final game against four deaths.

A strong response for DK

DK played all three games from the red side, and the shape of the series says more about their adjustment than about side selection. Recovering from a game in which they took four kills to win the next two this convincingly will encourage them. For KT, the question is how a team that controlled the opener so clearly ended up on the wrong side of a 13-5 kill count in the decider.
